Too Young To Kill (Matt Pop's Around Again)
Thanks to Matt Pop, this old idea for a RuPaul / Brite Futures mashup now has a new lease of life for 2013.

Here Comes The Sun Again
I don’t know why I made this… but here it is, my pathetic attempt at a @BriteFutures / @RuPaul mashup. If you look at my last.fm stats for 2011 you’ll see that RuPaul was my most listened to artist, and whilst Brite Futures were only third, you’ll know from reading my tumblr and tweets that I can’t shut up about how much I love them. I sidestepped giving this mashup the accurate yet scary title of Here It Comes To Kill Again, but maybe if you hate it, then that’s what you can call it!

Don’t watch me freaking out. This is the first time I’ve listened to @BriteFutures live since they came to England + were on The 5:19 Show - which wasn’t on TV, just online!

After reading this bio from @BriteFutures:
“Okay, official bios can only say so much. They’re nice, polite, summing it up in a nice little package, but we have to let you know what’s been going on for the past year. You may remember us as Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head, but recently we’ve changed to Brite Futures after legal pressure from the Portman camp and from our label. See, last year we signed with Warner Brothers Records, which seemed great at first. They were going to distribute our first record worldwide, we were going to tour a bunch, and meet a lot of great people. But then they wanted us to change our band name and album before they would release it— add a new song here, take one out there— and soon it turned into,
“You need to write a radio hit.”
We obliged, we wrote many new songs which they liked (and more importantly, so did we), but they were too afraid to put out our record. After almost a year of waiting and working on a record we had already finished (Glistening Pleasure, now updated to Glistening Pleasure 2.0), we decided to leave WB. And we feel great about it. Now in our newfound “freedom” our new album is almost done and we are preparing for a huge push next year. It’s exciting to get back to doing it ourselves, something being on a major label robbed us of. So please forgive our “disappearance” over the last year. We’re coming back better than ever, and can’t wait to get back to what we love— playing music live, seeing happy fans, and being a band.”
I’m sure Too Young To Kill is about their time on a major record label. I’ve always wondered what the “kill” in Too Young To Kill meant, but now I think it means “to kill it”, as in:
“To get a powerful ammount of positive feedback. Often used in comedy, Rock and Roll shows, and anything else stage related.” http://urbanup.com/1444290
As in, WB Records said the band we’re too young to make an impact. But that’s just my theory, I’m probably reading into things like I always.

“When I wake up in the morning
And the alarm gives out a warning
I don’t think I’ll ever make it on time
By the time I grab my books
And I give myself a look
I’m at the corner just in time to see the bus fly by
It’s alright ‘cause I’m saved by the bell.”
